USB socket type for circuit board repair

Postby tallis54 » Tue Mar 31, 2015 8:40 pm

Hi there...

I need to repair a USB port/socket on a laptop motherboard. The USB connector socket is manufactured by Lotes (see the accompanying photograph), but I am not able to find a product number on the part. I am not familiar with this type of USB socket. It is different from the standard type A female USB socket because it is larger/longer and has two sets of 4 pins.
Anyone have any ideas as to the type this female socket so that I can order a replacement. I was not able to find it on the Lotes Web-site. If it is not available, which type A connector socket should I use to replace this part.

Thanks

Simon
