I can buy the Fairchild NE5532N or Fairchild KA5532 for this project at about the same price.
The datasheets seem to read the same - but I guees they must be different somehow.
Does anyone have a reason to buy one over the other ?

Fairchild purchased Samsung a while back. The KA5532 uses the Samsung numbering system. I am not certain if the two are from the same fab or not!! I do not think that it makes a differnece.
According to a recent Elecktor article, NE5532 Power-Amp, they tested the Fairchild devices against the TI & ONSemi ones and determined that the Fairchild ones performed the best on the THD vs F test. They failed to mention that Fairchild has recently discontinued this device!!
