Elektor rx

The radio-active topic

Postby nickt » Wed Jun 23, 2010 12:00 am

I've been given an old Elektor PCB, built up with a ferrite rod with a small coil, maybe 50 turns, and a TBA 120s, so I guess its some sort of Rx ... The PCB is an EPS 83024

Anyone have any idea what sort ?? Some of the components are missing, but it would be nice to make it work as its previous owner doesn't seem to have

Looking at the TBA120S datasheet, its likely either a TV sound receiver or an FM radio receiver. I do recall seeing TBA120's in TVs years ago, and I'm sure there are many other circuits for FM radios, so I'd take a punt on it being a TV sound receiver.

Hope that helps!
