E-Wheelie: Segway patent?

I was just wondering what the implications are of the Wheelie kit as far as Segway's patent(s) are concerned. Any ideas?

Afaik there are no implications: This is a self built device and patents are only related to industrial production of goods.
So you should better not try to install your own production line

2nd: The basic principle is patented since the eighties in Japan. Because this is in fact prior art the wohle patent thing is questionable...

Two questions:

a) If you sell a complete kit of parts in a box to someone (as opposed to them sourcing the same parts themselves after reading a technical magazine article for example) are there still then no implications regarding patents?

b) Surely devices such as the "ewee" from Germany which are now offered as fully built machines, must infringe the Segway patent?
