Thermocouple for oven controller

The electronics enthusiast's product design cycle

Postby johnrr » Wed Mar 18, 2009 12:00 am

I have just ordered an Elektor reflow oven controller. Is the thermocouple included with the kit?

If not, what type is it? The parts list for the earlier version specified a Type K thermocouple. Is this still the same?

Digikey (in North America) sell a K type thermocouple which has a bare exposed junction. Is this OK assuming that care is taken not to short it to anything.

Thanks for any help

John.
