Hello everyone

I'm wondering about the possibility of obtain (a decent imitation of) decaying sound like carillons, bells, gongs etc. using only variable duty cycle square waves (aka PWM) from a MCU, avoiding use of external analog envelope control hardware, just a passive filter.
Maybe someone skilled on spectrum analysis can confirm this is feasible or not.
