wind turbine

I would like to make a windturbine for charging 12v or 24v car batteries.
That power would be used for an DC/AC converter (230 volts AC)
Is there a simple solution (tables) for creating the coils, so that they give enough energy to load the battery, without destroying them with to high charging voltage?
I know that it all depends on the strength of the magnets, speed of the rotor, number of windings in each coil, number of coils....
Or should I just do some experimenting?

is a very easy and low cost electricity production can be done by using dc permanent magnet motor.this one produce electricity when you make it turn and no need to induct.my best observation,is the use of a 120 vdc motor as generator.for your needs you not have to have a high rpm ex.3000 rpm @ 120volt would said about 12 volt at 300rpm so you have just to select the right one for your need.

pesonally, i used a 120vdc on third hp and run it whit a gas trimmer engine i use it to light many cfl,is useful for exterior activity and it run to have 120v at 2500-2700 rpm.

The data based on number of wind turbines tells one story: in the early days wind turbines were small and numerous to make up a particular capacity in megawatts of a wind farm. That's why Kern in CA has the most - they were first big windfarms.
