(sorry for the poor english)

Hi!

I have bought the OBD2 analyser from Elektor and bulit it but i cant get it to work and I´m now serching for clues how to get it to work..

I have 2 cars to test it on, A VW passat -99 and an Audi -02(petrol not disel)

In both caeses the yellow light starts to blink but no green light comes up, the computer can´t connect to the interface ither saying "failed to reset interface" or can´t connect to interface, in both cases it shows the Com port OK

shoulden´t I be able to make contact with the interface altough the car isen´t supported?

Is the software in the computer involved for the green light´s function?

What use doe´s this have?

May this be a part of my problem?

Any tips is welcome!

dear g-man (and others still experiencing problems)

the OBD-2 Analyzer will autonomously (i.e. without the help of the PC) search for a valid protocol. If one is found, the green LED will light. If not, try again by switching the vehicle ignition on and off, and/or reset the analyser.
The following is recommended to test the connection between the PC and the analyser:
- If Scanmaster is started you will *always* get the report: “port: com1 ready”.
- If no analyzer is connected, if the connection is faulty or missing, or if the analyzer is not powered you will see the following messages after about 30 seconds:
Chip version :
Inteface isready
ECU Connection failure
- If the connection to the PC is okay and the analyser is correctly powered, then the last three messages will appear immediately, that is, without the 30-second delay.

Let us know how you get on.
