mobile phone sniffer (May 2002).

Hi! i just in the other day reviewing my magazines i saw this article and tried to do yhis project...but after the work done i couldn't ear any voice from my mobile phone! something is wrong ....could be the antena ? or the L1 size / diameter?
could i realy ear conversations with this device? ...the only ting i ear is: "the same when someone with a mobile phone walks with a radio" help me please...

the project was never designed to listen in on mobile phone conversations as you seem to assume. It merely detects the presence of a transmitting mobile in a vicinity of about 20-50 metres.

Can someone please give me some more infor on this circuit or draw me a propar circuit diagram as i have the pdf file but it is complex for me i dont undertsand it. I want to breadboard my desing pleas ehelp if you have spare time!!!
