Elektor Gnublin new Linux distribution problem

The topic on number crunching

Postby michaelfleming » Mon Dec 16, 2013 12:00 am

Hi ag

The card will boot normally no error messages and I can log on as root. But after one or two minutes the following message appears on the consol

BUG : soft lockup -cpu#0 stuck for 81995s ! [swapper : 0]
Modules linked in pegasus mii
then some more information giving the state of registers etc I think

Pressing return will clear the message but it continues to happen every 2 minutes or so for as long as I am logged on
I had no problems with the old kernel

Regards Michael

Hi Michael,

I am very weak on this, but I would recommend to first try removing any unused modules. I am guessing that you are either running low on memory or having some driver loading conflicts. I would start with the Pegasus mii.

You might also try reviewing the startup log, looking for any problems reported during the boot process.

Regards,
Ag

Same problem, I have to reset gnublin board many times to get gnublin login. Kernel is original from gnublin.org and SD card has came up with gnublin kit. I'm using gnublin system (live CD). Why is that happening?

Best regards.
