temperature error

The electronics enthusiast's product design cycle

At ambient temperature of 15C, when I started a reflow, the tmperature indicated was 65534C. One minute after, the temperture was 2C, and 10 minuts after the temperature was 21C. BUT the temperature sensor was at the same temperature of 15C.

Looking at the PCB we can see that the MAX6675 - cold junction compensated thermocouple to digital converter are near the voltage regulators too hot, and fairawai from de cold junction of the sensor. The authors missed that the cold junction NEEDS to be at the same temperature of the IC

Solutions? Maibe connect the thermocouple cable direct on the PCB and put a heat sink at the voltage regulators
