Postby dirk_999 » Tue Nov 08, 2011 12:00 am

How can i install the drivers (win7) for EB039?
I have a multiprogrammer bord with a µC 18F4455.
I plug the EB039 board into port C of the multiprogrammar.
I set the jumpers on the EB039 board on C and 1.
I connect an usb cable between EB039 and my pc
(i don't connect an usb cable on the multiprogrammer)
i have downladed the AB039_driver.zip file on my pc, and i unzipped that file.
I switch the power on
The first time i do this a message appears new hardware found but my computer could not install the driver.
The second time is do this there was no message anymore.

And now?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You should install all software as described in the course. For the EB039 board the steps are described in section 2.2.3. Did you follow those steps and if yes what error message(s) did you encounter?

thank you for the answer.

the procedure to install the driver with win7 is a little bit different then discribed in the course.

Go to "configuratiescherm" "apparaatbeheer" connect the EB039 bord on the pc, click (2x) on USB serial port and then you can link to the map with the zip file EB039_sriver.zip
(see also attachements)
Now everything works. The "AAAAA..." appear on the screen

Thanks for your reply and the excellent pictures. I'm very interested in this part "The first time I do this a message appears new hardware found but my computer could not install the driver." Why couldn't your computer install the drivers?

The first time I use the EB039 board i had a message (see attachment) the only thing I could do was closing that window. The second time I plugged in the EB039 board i opend first the "apparaatbeheer" window and then i could further.

Thanks for your reply Dirk. Other Windows7 users have not reported any problems so I'm not sure what happened in your case. Should other people report similar issues than I will add your excellent screenshots and report to the errata.
