Just to be sure not to miss anything, would you please complete the start up procedure in following order:
1. Switch OFF the machine and UI (Colidrive)
2. Start up the machine
3. Wait until machine homes IN & OUT of microswitches (If there is no movement or one of the axes is not homing UI (Colidrive) will not find the controller.)
4. Start up UI (Colidrive)

I did that all before I asked for help, and I did it again a few minutes ago, but no luck.
The axis are homing normally but the controller is not found by the programm. Also reseting the machine was without effect.
The controller cannot be found.
Check for the connection between machine and UI by pressing “RESET MACHINE”.
If this start up procedure is not respected controller will receive wrong code and it will go in standby mode where it is impossible to restart it without turning the machine OFF and ON again and then you have to start again from step 1.
I did that several times but no connection can be established.
If there is no connection there can be following problem:
1. Your com port setting are wrong or in use by another application on your PC. This application sometimes run on your pc without you being aware of that. (example – Nokia PC suite is known to block ALL com ports on your PC and they appear unavailable). Check for COM port availability via HYPER TERMINAL on your PC. Every PC has one. (to operate Profiler there should be one COM port free from 1-9. This is a MUST)
Hypertherminal has no problem with the comport. I checked the settings yesterday and again today. I also restarted the computer several times. Nothing was changed with respect to the settings I worked with before. Still no connection whatsoever.
The only thing I did not try up until now was to use an other computer. I will try that within the next hour and let you know.
