ElektorBus Boards - No communication (with PC)

Postby Arvid » Tue Apr 07, 2015 6:53 pm

I'm now trying get a data exchange between my ElektorBus Experimental boards and the PC!
The red LED can also be togle on the board itself on and off as in the project described.
However, there is no communication with the PC.

Unfortunately I have only one (old) oscilloscope, but I can detect a data flow from PC to the RS485 bus.
This is forwarded as a TTL signal to pin 2 of ATMega328P. Unfortunately, the nodes do not send.
Even when booting the node I can't received (with e.g. PuTTYtel) data at the PC port (9600,8, noP, 1, off).

Unfortunately I have no other equipment, such as Buslogger or a logic analyzer.
I have given two various tasks (relays and temperature sensor) and different addresses (5,6).
The relay type also togles the relay and the red LED.

To exclude a mistake on my part, I bought your "Switching via RS485" board (assembled and tested).
Unfortunately the eeprom was empty (how was this tested?)!
After programming, the node had the same behavior as the other two as well.
The fuses are set as shown in Fuses.jpg (attachment).

Maybe it is a UART/frequency problem!?

Do you have any idea what the problem is or how I can test it further?

Thanks and Regards
Arvid

No one? :(

No one had worked with ElektorBus? No one has/had problems with this?
Is my problem clear?

Regards
Arvid

Elektor Germany Editor Jens Nickel asked me to post this reply on his behalf:

Arvid should test "FF" as Low-Fuse-Byte, he has 77. I hope this helps.
About the EEPROM of the round-shaped "Switching via RS485" PCB: The EEPROM and flash must be programmed by the user itself, demo-Software can be downloaded. Everything is stated in the bus-articles. It is of course not possible to repeat all the bus-issues in each single bus-article.
