E-Wheelie: Changing the crystal...

OBD, CAN, EV, RV

Postby bluebear » Fri Mar 05, 2010 12:00 am

Hey.

Im doing a project where im trying the make a interface with the TX/RX on the ATmega32. I was just woundering if it would have any effect on the circut or timing if the crystal was changed out? Im communicating with 115200 baud, and with a 16MHZ clock i get a error of 3 %.

Regards.

Hello Lars,

i am building a Telemetry for the wheelie at the Moment.
This uses the USART, too.
http://www.gerold-online.de/cms/en/wheelie/mein-wheelie/telemetrie.html

Using the USART has no effect to the rest of the Wheelieprogram, but it is not necessary to send data in highest speed.
3% is no Problem

An article in Elektor is planned in the near future.

Nice job hehe.. good to see some cool Wheelie geeking

Im making the wheelie connect to a robot platform we are using. And for this im adding encoders to the wheels. The encoder information and other informations are transmitted over a rs485 bus. So the baud rate is fixed at 115200.

ill post some pictures and stuff if u like when done

And thx for your reply... Its quiet nice what you have done.
