HF coil, need help

The radio-active topic

Postby toreb » Wed May 30, 2007 12:00 am

Hi guys, I need a little help with the following:

I have made a simple 40Mhz AM RF transmitter, and the antenna on this is made of an aircoil, 10 turns with a diameter of 7.2mm, made of 1mm copper wire. This gives me satisfactory range for my transmitter.

However, I need to shrink the enclosure, and need help to calculate a new coil.
Do anyone have tips on where to search for calculating tips or tricks for this kind of application? Maybe a link to a WEB forum or anything?

Sadly the Ham radio group web forum here in Norway is closed for non-members, that would otherwise be a perfect spot for getting help.
Regards,
