Easy upgrade to let the profiler work with G-code and more sofisticated software. (Also 3D!)
I'll continue to write this thread in English so more people can enjoy the fun of adapting the electronics of the profiler. It's is relatively easy!
Yesterday I managed to complete my setup as mentioned in the message above. I added the two missing solid state relais and now Mach3 also controls the spindle an the vacuumcleaner.
The instructions you can find below.
http://www.oreid.nl/profiler/instructions-parallel-interface.pdf This adaption makes the processor of the PC fully responsible for the timing and control of the steppermotordrivers inside the profiler. The little processorboard is removed. The control-signals (step and dir) to the profiler are send over the parallel port of the PC. I have a setup with a pentium3, 1000mhz and Mach3 and it works smoothly. It also enables you to control with your own keypads, controllers, joysticks or hacked keyboard...

My card is designed by Benny and the only thing it does is interfacing between the processor of te pc and the motordrivers.

-On the french forum Abiz made a nice transplantation (less complicated as it seems.)

The transplantation is somewhere in the internals of this machine. But my mobile-profiler looks like this at the moment. (Noise and dust free, the screen of the PC is not yet Mach3)
