PROFILER and 3D-Printer ?

Mei name is Wolf. I am a model ship builder from Germany. I use my original Profiler for a long time.

Recent developments have led to the 3D printer. Such a printer would simplify the work considerably for the model builder.

So my question to you: Is there any information in the Dutch forum how to modify the Profiler to a 3D printer?

Which profiler do you have and which controller?

you will need an extruder head for your profiler.
And to be honest another controller like the RAMPS 1.4. That is what i am currently using with my Profiler.

I have the very first Profiler still in the original only the H-assembly was exchanged.

Before I have asked, I did some research and I came up, for example, with the RepRap concept. So I wonder if other people have different experiences.

I think you better buy a 3D printer kit...
Like the RepRap, Makerbot,...
There are many plans available...


But it may be possible if you use another controller and buy a heated bed and extruder...

Thank you for your response. A decision I have not yet made. But when I think that the original Profiler has cost 1,6k, then maybe I should not compromise for the 3D printer. I have only to convince my government.
